About Trichloroacetic Acid

Trichloroacetic Acid has been characterized as the analogue of the acetic acid. In this 3 hydrogen atoms from the group of methyl have been replaced with the chlorine atoms. Trichloroacetic acid is prepared when the chlorine reacts with the acetic acid in the presence of the suitable catalyst. Salts of the trichloroacetic acid are known as the trichloroacetates.
